Henry Purcell - The Indian Queen

Braving unseasonal snow fall over the weekend of 10-12 March 2023, Leeds Baroque rehearsed and performed  Henry Purcell's The Indian Queen at Leeds Conservatoire. A stary cast of vocal soloists, Philippa Hyde soprano, Peter Davoren tenor and Stuart O'Hara bass joined the choir and orchestra, led by Asuka Sumi and directed by Peter Holman.

Leeds University School of Music Summer Festival - Vivald's Gloria

On Sunday 3 July 2022 members of Leeds Baroque Choir and Orchestra joined the School of Music's community choir for a workshop performance of Vivaldi's Gloria, directed by Leeds Baroque Chorus Master, Clive McClelland.

Leeds Baroque Choir perform Schütz & Carissimi  - An anniversary portrait

 The National Centre for Early Music 15th May 2022: The Choir was joined by violinists Asuka Sumi and Derek Revill, Bass violinist Louise Jameson and theorbo player Martyn Hodgson, with Peter Holman (chamber organ) in a programme celebrating two of the most admired European composers of the 18th- century.

Leeds Baroque in lockdown - recording our first virtual concert

Like all other performing groups we were not been able to give our usual live performances during the Covid 19 pandemic. However thanks to support from Leeds Inspired, Leeds Philosophical and Literary Society, The early Music Shop and the Friends of Leeds Baroque and the technical expertise of Leeds University School of Music we have been able to record a virtual concert. Leeds Baroque - launch of the new timpani

Our new timpani, funded in our succesful crowd funding initiative in February 2019 made their debut in our October concert at Leeds College of Music in a programme of devoted to the work of JS Bach. We invited photographer Richard Storrow to record the event for us.
